Worth the Carr journey to Hartlepool for U13s
Hartlepool batted first, but we took wickets regularly, Jonny Carry excelling with some fast and straight bowling to achieve figures of 4 for 7, as Hartlepool made their way to a score of 97 for the loss of 11 wickets, only 209 net. Jonny Carr has now moved to the top of the wicket taking table, with 10 wickets. The other Jonny, Jonny Carlton, bowled 2 wicket maidens and has the best bowling average.
Hartlepool's opening bowlers were fast but also wild, we slowly built a positive total to take the game away from them. A couple of late wickets meant we finished on 68 for 4, 236 net, a winning margin of 27 runs.
Our performance on the field was a lot livelier, still too many silly wides when bowling, but some good stops and catches, a pleasant change from last week.
