Match Report, D and D U13 league match v Rockliffe
Richmondshire 86 for 4 (266 net) beat Rockliffe 87 for 7 (252 net) by 14 runs.
Rockliffe batted first, although one opener batted well, catches from Griffin Bewell and James Newsom knocked them back. The middle Rockliffe pairs were inexperienced and scored slowly, then the last pair batted aggressively, though another good catch from Ryan Campbell knocked five off their score. Our bowling performance was sound, only six wides, two wickets each for James and Ryan while Ted bowled two maidens.
The highlight of our innings was a fine innings of 28 not out from Jacob Tate, four of the runs came from overthrows, but he repeatedly despatched bad balls off his legs for four and hit a lovely straight drive. Ryan also hit a couple of useful fours scoring 12 not out, so our last pair had little pressure on them.
Owen Greaves and James Newsom made their competitive debuts for the club and can be pleased with their contributions.
