U12 Match Report v Stockton

The U12s were well beaten by a team with the best bowling attack I have seen at his level.

We won the toss and put Stockton in. James Irving opened the bowling in the rain and took a wicket with the last ball of the first over. Fortunately the rain soon stopped and the skies cleared. Our bowling was generally tidy, only one Stockton player threatened with the bat, their Manager's son, who scored 23 out of a total of 67 for 4, 235 net. Jacob kept wicket well, conceding no byes. Ryan, Matthew and Matthew all took a wicket.

Ted and James Irving opened the batting and did well to put on 12 runs without losing a wicket against challenging bowling. Unfortunately, the Stockton bowling remained accurate and showed up defects in our batting technique as our following batsmen were regularly dismissed, either caught off mis-timed shots or bowled by good straight balls. John Clarke hit a couple of fours to top score with 11, but we lost 9 wickets in scoring 50 runs to lose by 57 runs.
