U15 D&DJCL Result Richmondshire 71 for 5, Middleham 62 for 7

Unbelievably the U15 played at Middleham on Friday 8th June, Middleham must have been the driest place in the North East, Richard Sanderson kept the wicket dry and the match was played under a small patch of blue sky surrounded by grey clouds with rain in the distance in all directions.
Richmond opened the first innings with Kieran Doshi and Sam Winter, Kieran was caught out on one run, in contrast to Sam (U11 making up numbers)  who defended his wicket over the 20 overs getting 28 runs not out, this probably explains why he's playing for Yorkshire. Dan Winter was in next, hitting the boundary three times, he was eventually caught out on 21 runs. Bradlee Goldsmith to his disappointment was unable to display his batting talent as he was run out on 4 runs. Tom Peacock was caught out for a duck, James Probert was run out on on 5 runs leaving Peter While on 2 runs not out. At the end of Richmonds innings we had 61 runs with 10 extras giving a score of 71 for 5
Peter While got us off to a good start in the second innings, his first over being a wicket maiden, he went on to hit the wicket again in his third over despatching the first Middleham pair. Bradlee Goldsmith also had a better innings bowling 2 maidens, Middleham only managing to get four runs off his 4 overs. Kieran Doshi hit the wicket bowling out J Dinsdale, Middleham's highest scorer on 14 runs. James Probert bowled a couple of good overs including a maiden. Sam Winter caught out S Brown off George Hunts bowl and Dan Winter caught out T Wilson off Bradley Galloways bowl. Tim Dawson enjoyed his first game as wicket keeper, letting past a respectable five byes, maybe he's found his vocation on the cricket field? At the end of Middlehams innings they had 33 runs with 29 extras giving a score of 62 for 7. I think our team needs more bowling practice to reduce the number of no balls and wides given away.
Kieran Doshi was an excellent captain, though his personal statistics this match were nowhere near as good as his last match in the Darlington league, when he got 41 runs against Raby castle, he has the full backing of the team with his enthusiasm, encouragement and inclusivity.
Man of the match is split between the Winter brothers Dan and Sam. Thanks to Nigel Winter for umpiring, Jim While for scoring, the mums for transporting,( hope your cars survived the bumpy track) and Middleham for being in a rain shadow.
