U11 Match v Sedgefield

Another decent performance from the under 11 team saw them narrowly defeat Sedgefield at Gilling West.

Bowling first Ricmond took two wickets in the first two overs to set the tone for the rest of the Sedgefield innings, eventually taking 7 wickets in total.  Most bowlers performed well and there were two wickets each for the pace of James Kelly and the spin of Ryan Goldsmith.  The only disappointing factor was that Richmond gave away 43 extras, mainly from wides, meaning a net score of 223 for Sedgefield.

When Ricmond batted they initially made steady progress, however James Kelly quickened the tempo of the innings hitting three boundaries.  All of the first three pairs lost a wicket meaning that when the last Richmond pair, Tom Dowson and Toby Newton, went in the scores were more or less level.  However the pair batted very sensibly and added 18 runs with no wickets.  Toby equalled James Kelly's top net score of 10 runs and meant Richmond won by 19 runs to make it three wins in a row.
