Return of the (Mid)Summer Premier League

With the dreadful weather at the start of the season, we have missed some of the free Fridays at Gilling and there is now a backlog of fixtures which limits ground availability. However, there are 3 consecutive Fridays free at Gilling, starting Friday 15th June, which we have booked for our younger members.

We propose to run a soft-ball competition at Gilling on these evenings, with 4 teams, the (Mid)Summer Premier League. Format will be 10 a side pairs cricket, with semi-finals on the first two Fridays and a final on the 3rd Friday.

Entry is open to all paid-up Primary School age members, who are not part of the hard ball match squad that trains with Richard and Kevin and are capable of bowling legal(ish) over-arm deliveries. Places are limited to the first 40 applicants, after which there will be a reserve list.

Please email me on jim@whilefamily.co.uk or catch me on Friday night to register your(child's) interest.

There will also be a need for a number of informal parent helpers to run these matches, no parental cricketing skill will be necessary, tea-making, shepherding, chivvying along etc.. will be what is needed.
