Result U13 D& D Away v Middleton in Teesdale

When we arrived at the ground the weather looked distinctly unpromising. Fortunately the rain that threatened didn't arrive and although cold we got in a good game on a decent wicket. We fielded a largely inexperienced mixed age team with four primary age boys, two Y7's and two Y8's against a similarly inexperienced Middleton team. A longish boundary and slow outfield made for a low scoring game.

Adam won the toss and chose to bowl first. The line and length of our bowling was a bit mixed but there were enough good bowls for wickets to fall steadily.  Harvey kept wicket well and with a piece of very quick thinking stumped a batsmen going walkabout out of his crease.  A very good fielding performance also resulted in wickets with an excellent catch by Charlie and a good throws from Liam and Nathan producing run outs.
Middleton finished their innings on 247 for 8.

With a modest target we batted carefully and intelligently concentrating on not throwing away wickets. Good running kept the score moving along, mostly in singles. With a win fairly secure the final pair of Liam and Charlie swung the bat rather more. Both were striking the ball well and Liam was unfortunate to be out twice.
We finished our innings on 265 for 3 to win by 43.
