National Cricket Day: Tuesday 22 May

The Club is celebrating National Cricket Day this Tuesday, 22 May 2012 by hosting a prestigious Richmondshire Schools XI vs The Forty Club fixture.

The cream of Junior cricketers in Richmondshire will be taking on The Forty Club, which is the second largest private cricket club in the world, whose past presidents include Herbert Sutcliffe, Len Hutton and Jack Hobbs.

We're absolutely delighted to welcome The Forty Club here to Richmond, and its participation is a testament to the hard work of club officials and coaches and the dedication of parents over recent years.

The game will start at 2:30pm and will be umpired by two ICC umpires: Lee Goldsmith and Steve Tovey, both of whom have international experience and I'd like to thank Lee and Steve for giving up their time to help the Club.

The bar will be open from 3pm, and the weather forecast - for once - looks very promising, so please do come down and support our local boys against The Forty Club.

Yours In the Spirit of Cricket,

Andy Barlow
Club Chairman
