U11 Festival Report

The final was won quite easily by Richmond A on a by now sodden pitch as they beat Scorton by 251 to 210, with the damage being done in the Scorton innings in which they took 6 wickets. Richmond A's passage to the final was rather harder, as they only finished second in their league, having been beaten by 2 runs by Richmond B in the first match of the day, which meant they had to and did thrash Darlington B in order to face Barnard Castle, winners of the other league section, in the semi-final. Richmond B had a very close semi-final with Scorton, just not being able to hit the required match-winning boundary in the final over, but can feel very proud of their fine performances, shame we just missed an all-Richmond final.
