Richmondshire Vipers at Yorkshire Girls Tournament Tuesday 31 May

I'd like to say a big "Thank You" to Mark Jobling for looking after the Vipers at the Yorkshire Girls Tournament, and for the following report:

This Tuesday saw the girls U11 compete in their first all girls tournament.  

It was fantastic to see 11 enthusiastic players turn up and with a touch of jiggery pokery we could field two teams of Richmond Vipers.

Both teams played five hard fought games throughout the day ably supported by parents and grandparents. Our teams came fourth and sixth which was a commendable performance given we fielded such young teams. All our players could visibly be seen to improve with every ball bowled or faced.

All these girls showed true sportsmanship in allowing us to swap the A and B teams around and are a credit to the spirit showed within the girls section.

Forgive me for not naming individual player’s performances but on this occasion all players excelled; they also looked brilliant in the new tops.

The boys certainly need to look out in our U11 tournament.

Thanks obviously go to Lynn Hickman for organising, Andy Barlow for representing the club and umpiring, supporters and families, organisers at Harrogate, the Lady Taverners and last but by no means least the players who played so well and enjoyed themselves so much.
