match report under 13s Richmond vs Middleton-in-Teesdale

Score Richmond:267/3, Middleton-in-Teesdale 194/7

Conditions at Gilling West were good, we decided to play 16 overs per innings as Middleton were late arriving and it threatened to rain, it was the right decision as it started to rain lightly for the last 3 overs, but not enough to stop play.

Team: First pair:Ted While,Dominic Meacher, second pair:Dylan Lee, Adam Heseltine, third pair: Bradley Galloway, Tim Dawson, fourth pair: James Probert (Captain), Liam Thackray.

Middleton batted first, they were a younger less experienced team and struggled to score runs, this wasn't helped by some great bowling by Richmond. Ted hit the stumps twice, James, Liam and Bradley all hit the stumps once and James took two easy catches. Maiden overs were bowled by Ted, Tim, Dylan and Liam. Adams wicket keeping continues to improve.

After refreshments we gave Middleton some fielding practice, the boundary was hit three times by Ted, twice by James and once by Tim. Ted got the most runs on 20, followed by James on 15. Liam and Tim both lost a wicket and Dom was run out.

This was the first time that Dylan, Bradley, Dom and Liam have played for Richmond and they all showed huge potential. Well done to all the lads who gave a good all round performance and played well as a cohesive team under James' captaincy.

Man of the match: Ted While

Thanks to Jim While for umpiring and Janet Probert for serving refreshments.
