Gaynor's Pairs Challenge, Sun 5th June

The combined lunacy of Barlow's Barking Madmen ensured that their fearsome opponents Mossy's Monsters were overcome by 264 runs to 228. Both teams included a number of players who had not previously played a competitive match; for them both to post scores above 200 is a good effort.

Some performances of note: Nathan Hislop 13 not out, Jonny Carr's catch at point, Ryan Hislop hitting Jordan's middle stump, Tom Joashi's 3 wickets, Liam Laverick's direct hit, Lewis Cocks 3 wickets.

Chioma Hwafu, Jonathan Carlton, Nathan Simpson, Liam Laverick and Lewis Bell all get a special mention for not out innings in their first match. Keeping your wicket intact is a key part of playing pairs cricket.

Thanks to Gaynor for organising the match, which gave 27 players valuable practice.
