17/6/11 Chargers vs Superkings match report
score: Chargers 234-4 Superkings 214-3
The second match of this years SPL was played in good conditions, the rain threatened but held off. There was an excellent turnout of players with 11 Superkings and 10 Chargers. 10 overs per side were played and there was definitely less 'herding of cats' this week.
The Chargers opened the batting, notable were Jordan Forbes(captain) with 11 runs followed closely by James Norman with 10runs. James Kelly(captain) got 2 wickets in his first over, and both Casper Stone and Ben Gill got wickets in their overs.
In the second innings, there were some good batting actions from Jake Hall, Oliver Stone, Griffin Bewell and little Charlie Coulthard who has a brilliant swing and ran like a trooper between the wickets.James Norman took an amazing reflex catch close to the batsman, later followed by a cool catch near the boundary.
The main difference between the scores came from extras scored, the Superkings bowled 9 wides and 1 no ball giving away 19'runs' in contrast the Chargers bowled 3 wides giving away 6 'runs'
It was a pleasure to watch the enthusiasm of all the young players
