U11 Match away v Stokesley, Tues 10th May

Richmondshire were beaten by a well organised Stokesley side who look like they will win the league this season, having also beaten Marton.

Richmondshire got off to a decent start, Toby Lush and Will Swinbank putting on 15 without bein dismissed against an accurate attack. Sam Winter and Jonny Carr added another 17, but unusually, Sam gave a soft catch, which was taken. Ted While and Adam Heseltine then had a tough time, losing three wickets during their pairing as they struggled to score against the accurate bowling. Fortunately, Matthew Price and James Kelly had a good last wicket pairing, adding 25 without loss, leaving our score on 63 for 4, or 231 net.

Stokesley batted very patiently, taking no risks, waiting for the bad balls, of which there were a few, to score 90 for 1, the one wicket being taken by Sam Winter. Stokesley's score finished at 90 for 1, 282 net, so we lost by 51 runs. We didn't help our cause by bowling 19 wides and failing to stop a few of the balls that went for fours.
